Our Approach

Pibo’s Garden Playschool adopts a thematic play-based approach coupled with the NEL curriculum
framework in our programme. By providing a child-centred environment for children to engage in multi-sensorial activities
and authentic learning experiences, Pibo’s encourages discovery and develop a love of learning in every child. In a nurturing,
interactive environment, Pibo’s children are groomed to be confident, collaborative and creative individuals.

Aesthetic Expression
We believe in giving children the freedom and autonomy for creative expression through art, music & dance, and even cookery.
Art: Our children are exposed to various techniques such as colouring, blending, shading and different mediums like working with clay and many more. They also explore with food during their Cookery and Food Craft lessons!
Music & Dance: We use different musical instruments to enhance children’s coordination, linguistic, listening and memory skills. It serves as a language vehicle to connect to our preverbal tots! They are also effective forms of creative outlet that sets the foundation for confidence and self-discovery.
Cookery: Our cookery activities allow children to be creative and adventurous, while they pick up basic learning skills. To help our children grasp simple math concepts, our educators conduct activities such as counting fruits or measuring ingredients. Reading recipes along with the children is another great way to help boost their comprehension skills, and to understand the different processes like blending and mixing. Indeed, cooking is also a great way to see science in action!

Imaginative Play
Role-playing stimulates imaginative minds and benefits children’s cognitive development. Through purposeful play, children can express their feelings and strengthen their communication skills in the process.

Fun with Mandarin
We incorporate Mandarin into our daily programme through engaging activities such as music, drama, games, crafts, and many more! We also put in place a thematic approach to guide our children’s understanding and interest in the language.

Play is a fundamental aspect of Pibo’s!
Messy Play
Pibo’s children enjoy various sensorial play activities from playing in water, sand and even mud! These activities reinforce mathematics and scientific concepts through exploration and aid in developing hand-eye coordination, motor skills and social skills.
Outdoor Play
We love that our children get at least an hour of outdoor play every day! You will see our children on the trikes and playground every morning. They are also involved in gardening projects which teaches them responsibility and emphasises on the importance of healthy eating.
Our children’s learning always happens beyond the classrooms with daily outdoor play and the Singapore Botanic Gardens opposite the centre for their weekly nature walks.
